Turn 3 Results - Solaris VII - 3 Lakes Valley

Hiroshi Yaeger's (Ben#15) transmission last turn proves to be prophetic, as first Big Joe's AC10 & then 5 LRMs strike the head of his Catapult, penetrating the cockpit & killing him instantly. This also puts Big Joe in trouble, as he is struck in return by an Inferno SRM, stressing the already hot 'mech past the first shutdown threshold. Unless he shuts down, Big Joe Duke will be risking an ammo explosion due to excess heat.

Felicity Bowain is also struck by 3 Inferno SRMs, but takes it in her stride, having not fired this turn. Sven Randall then retreats to depth 2 water to cool off & escape being boxed in. Unfortunately, he doesn't notice that hull integrity has been compromised, flooding the engine compartment; which then proceeds to meltdown & detonates.
Felicity Bowain & Maxwell Drake both prove to be just outside the blast radius, as does Yohan Maxwell, although they all get a healthy dose of radiation poisoning. Sven does not fare as lucky, even though managing to eject; he is first flash fried & then barbequed by the plasma blast, barely registering what killed him.
As this was obviously accidental, both Wayne & Paul score 28 VP (for the self kill).

Last turn I rolled more than 10 snake eyes, this turn I roll 8 boxcars, go figure :(

All players put in orders this turn, so there are some major firefights brewing, mostly around the central lake & woods.

I'm going to try & push into a weekly turnaround for the rest of the game, so next orders are due Sunday, 10th May 1998.
