SCENIC SITES OF THE BLUE MOUNTAINS
THE THREE SISTERS
This is the most famous of the many strange rock
formations on the eroded sandstone plateau. They consist of three
pinnacles rising several hundred metres high from the Jamison
Valley. They have become a symbol of the Blue Mountains. They are best
seen from Echo Point which is a lookout perched on the edge of a 200
metre high vertical cliff. Echo Point is just over a kilometre north
of Katoomba from where a bus regularly leaves.
The Giant Stairway commences
from near the Information Centre at this point.
