TITLE Centre for Appropriate Technology (CAT) Incorporated PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Centre provides research and design, and develops and teaches technologies appropriate to remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. TARGET GROUPS Remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Aboriginal outstations. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES Respond to requests for technical assistance from individuals and community organisations. Promote sustainable use of technologies in remote communities and maximisation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander control over technology. To disseminate technical information and ideas to community and outstation groups. |
