What's it all about?

Astronomical Concepts is an 8 week course that explores the concepts that underpin our understanding of the universe. From the planets, too the stars and the cosmos, a few simple concepts help explain much of what we observe in the universe today. Astronomical Concepts also introduces some of the more elaborate theories, like quantum physics and relativity, and applies them to the latest discoveries in astronomy. Aided with the latest in 3D stereo graphics the complex is made simple, and your wonder of the universe is given a new enlightened dimension. An outline of this course follows.

Introduction - An introduction to the cosmos and a few concepts that will be used during the course.
The Inner Planets - A description of the solid planets and asteroids near our sun.
The Outer Planets - The outer planets, comets and the formation of the Solar System.
Light and Matter - An introduction to Quantum Physics. How light and matter interact, and what this tells us about the universe.
Sun - Our star Sun. What is its character? How did it come about and how will it die?
Stars - How stars work, and how they end. From nebula too black hole.
Relativity - Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity explained. The nature of time and space.
Cosomology - What are the current ideas of the larger universe? Astronomy is in a state of flux.
