Celestial Sphere with Planets
Below is a program that displays the planets and stars as viewed from Earth.
Rotate the star field by holding the left mouse key down on the image.
The direction of the cursor from the centre of the field is the direction in which the field will rotate.
The initial view is looking toward the South Celestial Pole. The whole celestial sphere can be viewed by zooming out.
The movement of the planets can be seen by increasing or decreasing the time rate.
Trouble Shooting : If the program does not load you may need to download a newer version of the
programming language Java .
Internet Explorer may try and block the program. Simply unblock it when the option is given. The program is completely harmless.
