ABOUT ME

I was born in Coventry England in 1940. My family moved to Wellington New Zealand in 1946. My employers sent me to Melbourne Australia for two years in 1976. I have lived in Melbourne ever since working as a computer systems analyst until I retired.

My home is a 1200 square foot weatherboard house which I am slowly renovating on a quarter acre block of land with a vegetable garden and fruit trees in a classic family suburb.

Over the board I am a typical club chessplayer playing in the Box Hill Chess Club and weekend tournaments and doing some junior coaching. This year I won the Victorian Senior Chess Championship (players sixty years old and over).

I started playing correspondence chess in the late nineteensixties and won the New Zealand Correpondence Championship in 1973. While working in Australia I have played little correspondence chess largely due to lack of time. In recent years I have played only fixed openings tournaments.
