She married Charles Burns, who was born 1847 in Ireland. The 2 CONC marriage took place in Anderston, Glasgow in 1868. 2 CONT A son, William, was born to the couple in 1869. Another son, possibly 2 CONC Charles or Robert, must have been born sometime between 1870 and 1876, 2 CONC but appears to have died while still young, as he was not listed on 2 CONC Margaret's immigration papers to Australia. A daughter Margaret was born 2 CONC in 1878. 2 CONT Around this time Charles migrated to Australia as an unassisted 2 CONC immigrant. It is not yet known how and exactly when he arrived. However, 2 CONC in October 1879 he paid deposits in the Colony for the assisted passage 2 CONC of Margaret, their children William and Margaret, and also Margaret's 2 CONC brother William Hannah, who never made the journey. His deposit was 2 CONC repaid in July 1880. Margaret's address was given as 35 Mill Street, 2 CONC Anderston, Glasgow. A reference was provided by Stephen Kelly of the same 2 CONC address. 2 CONT Margaret and her children boarded the Samuel Plimsoll out of Plymouth 2 CONC harbour on the 29th April 1880. Built by the Walter Hood shipyard in 2 CONC Aberdeen in 1873, the clipper ship of 1440 tons was one of the fastest on 2 CONC the Australian run, and the pride of the Aberdeen and Commonwealth fleet. 2 CONT Only Margaret and her son William were to be greeted by husband Charles 2 CONC as they stepped ashore in Sydney on the 9th July 1880. Their daughter 2 CONC Margaret died on the 20th June on voyage. 2 CONT Charles and Margaret settled in Ross Street, Kerosene Bay. It is believed 2 CONC that Charles worked on the Sydney Harbour ferries. Margaret sponsored the 2 CONC assisted passage of her youngest brother Thomas to the colony, by paying 2 CONC a five-pound deposit for him on 25th January 1882 2 CONT The couple were to have several more children in Sydney. In 1882 Charles 2 CONC James Burns was born. 1885 saw the birth of Mary, and Robert was born in 2 CONC 1887. 2 CONT By 1896 their oldest son William, had moved to Western Australia, where 2 CONC he was killed in a brawl. 2 CONT Charles died in North Sydney on the 21st April 1898. The coroners report 2 CONC stated that cause of death was "the effects of poison to wit 'strychnine' 2 CONC self-administered". Family legend has it that he had been fired from his 2 CONC position of engineer on the Sydney Harbour ferries for not "polishing the 2 CONC brass" as instructed. Feeling unable to support his family he decided to 2 CONC suicide by means of a strychnine tainted milk drink. Perhaps the violent 2 CONC death of his son William some months earlier in Perth had its effect as 2 CONC well. For whatever reasons, he choose to take his own life. 2 CONT The coroner also recorded that Charles' property amounted to a "cottage". 2 CONC This would be the family home at Ross Street where Margaret continued to 2 CONC live after her husband's death with her remaining children Charles James, 2 CONC Mary and Robert. Her sister Jane also apparently also lived there after 2 CONC her husband's death in 1899. 2 CONT Margaret died on the 13th of December 1903, at the Royal North Shore 2 CONC Hospital, St. Leonards. Her death certificate states that she died of 2 CONC "cerebral haemorrhage and tuberculosis of the lungs". She was aged 54 and 2 CONC had been in the colony for 23 years. Margaret was buried in the Roman 2 CONC Catholic Cemetery, Gore Hill on Sydney's north shore. 2 CONT The only surviving members of her family at the time of her death were 2 CONC Charles (James) aged 21, Mary aged 19, and Robert aged 16. 1 CHAN 2 DATE 7 OCT 2003 3 TIME 13:52:36 0 @I5@ INDI 1 NAME Agnes /HANNAH/ 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1852 2 PLAC Kilmarnock,SCT 2 SOUR @S13@ 3 _RIN 13 3 PAGE RD 597/20 P18/19 3 QUAY 2 1 DEAT 2 DATE 15 JAN 1919 2 PLAC Glasgow 2 SOUR @S38@ 3 PAGE 1919 RD 644/15 Entry 25 3 QUAY 3 1 IDNO 0005 1 FAMS @F16@ 1 FAMC @F1@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 7 OCT 2003 3 TIME 14:49:48 0 @I6@ INDI 1 NAME Jane /HANNAH/ 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1854 2 PLAC Kilmarnock,SCT 2 SOUR @S13@ 3 _RIN 13 3 PAGE RD 597/20 P18/19 3 QUAY 2 1 DEAT 2 DATE 4 OCT 1902 2 PLAC Balmain,NSW 2 SOUR @S25@ 3 PAGE 1902/12733 3 QUAY 3 1 BURI 2 DATE 5 OCT 1902 2 PLAC Rookwood Cemetery,Sydney NSW 1 IDNO 0006 1 FAMS @F11@ 1 FAMC @F1@ 1 NOTE Jane Hannah was born about 1854, in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. A 2 CONC daughter of William Hannah and Agnes Baird and probably their third 2 CONC child, her siblings were Robert(1844), Margaret (1847), Janet (1849), 2 CONC Agnes (1852), William (1857), Mary (1859), Isabella (1861), Thomas Baird 2 CONC (1863) and John Cooper (1867). 2 CONT At this time little is known about Jane. She is listed in the 1861 2 CONC Kilmarnock, Ayshire census as a seven year old daughter of William 2 CONC Hannah, a scholar, and her birth place recorded as Kilmarnock. 2 CONT At the age of 19, she married Alexander Souter, also aged 19 and her next 2 CONC door neighbour, on the 31st of December 1872 at 5 Abbotsford Place, 2 CONC Glasgow "after banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland". 2 CONC At the time of the marriage, Jane was a power loom weaver of 110 Main 2 CONC Street, Gorbals. Alexander was an "iron rivetter (Journeyman)", of 108 2 CONC Main Street, Gorbals. 2 CONT Alexander's father, Alexander Souter, a sergeant in the 42nd Foot 2 CONC Division, was recorded as deceased. His mother was Helen Hall (formally 2 CONC Souter, maiden surname Menzies), also deceased. 2 CONT According to the GRO records in Scotland, Helen Menzies Souter was born 2 CONC to the couple on 15th September 1873 at 29 Alma Street, Govan, Glasgow, 2 CONC but is not recorded in NSW death records and so probably died before 2 CONC leaving Scotland. 2 CONT Her mother Agnes died the following December, and she witnessed the death 2 CONC of her father William in August 1874. 2 CONT The couple then moved to South Leith, Edinburgh where daughters Agnes 2 CONC (1883) and Jane (1884) were born. There were other children to the 2 CONC marriage, however the details of these have yet to be confirmed. 2 CONT In 1885, Jane and Alexander left their home country with their two 2 CONC remaining children Agnes and Jane, and arrived in Sydney as unassisted 2 CONC immigrants in October of that year, settling in Goodsell Street, Balmain. 2 CONC Their daughter Jane died two months after arrival, on 18th December 1885 2 CONC at the age of 1 year and 9 months. The cause of death was given as 2 CONC "atrophy", a wasting disease. She was buried in Balmain Cemetery. 2 CONT Jane's husband Alexander died in Leichardt, Sydney in 1899. 2 CONT Jane died in Balmain Hospital, Sydney NSW on the 4th October 1902, 17 2 CONC years after arriving in the colony. Her cause of death was given as 2 CONC "retroperitoneal abscess and exhaustion". She was buried on 5th October 2 CONC in the Presbyterian Section of Rookwood Cemetery, Homebush NSW. Her 2 CONC memorial inscription simply reads "My Mother", obviously a tribute from 2 CONC daughter Agnes. 2 CONT Before her death, Jane was living at Rose Street, Kerosene Bay, North 2 CONC Sydney. This was more likely Ross Street (put the difference down to a 2 CONC Scottish accent) where she would have been living with her sister 2 CONC Margaret who died a year later in 1903. Kerosene Bay is now known as 2 CONC Balls Head Bay. Family legend recalls that Margaret and Jane quite 2 CONC enjoyed having a beer together. 2 CONT Jane was 48 years old when she died. Although the couple had six 2 CONC children, only Agnes was living at the time of Jane's death. 2 CONT Daughter Agnes married Richard Augustus Longbottom at Dungog, NSW in 2 CONC 1904. He is listed on the 1861 census as living 2 CONC with his family at Douglas Street, Kilmarnock.  2 CONT He moved with his family to Glasgow at about the age of six, where his 2 CONC brother Thomas was born. After school, he became a wood sawyer, probably 2 CONC around Paisley, west of Glasgow. 2 CONT Several years after the deaths of his parents, William married Agnes 2 CONC Wilson on the 21st December 1875, at 78 High Street, Paisley "after banns 2 CONC according to according to the forms of the Church of Scotland". He was 2 CONC aged 20 at the time, able to sign his name, and living at 5 Glen St, 2 CONC Paisley. His bride Agnes was 19. She gave her occupation as a threadmill 2 CONC worker and address as 24 Great Hamilton St, Paisley. 2 CONT At that time, the cloth industry was at it's peak in the area renown for 2 CONC the famous Paisley pattern style. 2 CONT A son, William, appears to have been born to the couple around 1877, 2 CONC however it has not been possible to find a birth entry for him to date. 2 CONC He does appear in the 1901 census.  2 CONT Charles was born in October 1878, Alexander Wilson in July 1884 and a 2 CONC daughter Agnes Baird in February 1887. At the time of the 1901 census, 2 CONC there were also a son Robert aged 8 and daughter Maggie aged 6. Their 2 CONC address was 47 Love Street, Paisley. It is not known at present whether 2 CONC there were any further children. 2 CONT By the time of the census, William was recorded as a "timber merchant" 2 CONC and employer. It would appear that sons William and Charles worked in the 2 CONC family business as sawyer and clerk respectively, Alexander had gained an 2 CONC engineering apprenticeship, and daughter Agnes was an apprentice 2 CONC dressmaker. 2 CONT On the 13th of March, 1908, William's wife Agnes died at Falside Cottage, 2 CONC Paisley. By November of the same year, William had remarried to Margaret 2 CONC Crawford, a divorcee of three days. The marriage took place at Falside 2 CONC Cottage, and was witnessed by the "sheriff substitute of Renfrew and 2 CONC Bute". This marriage was not to last long however, as Margaret died of 2 CONC toxemia in June 1910, possibly as a result of a pregnancy.  2 CONT Early in 1911 William remarried again, this time to Janet Jackson Millar 2 CONC in West Calder. 2 CONT It is believed that daughter Agnes and perhaps some brothers emigrated to 2 CONC Canada during the early 1900's. Agnes married Robert Russell, a customs 2 CONC officer, in Toronto. They had a son, also Robert, who became a 2 CONC Presbyterian minister in Nova Scotia. Attempts to trace the Canadian 2 CONC connections have so far failed. 2 CONT William died of cerebral thrombosis (stroke) on the 23rd of October, 1920 2 CONC aged 62 years. His siblings were Robert (1844), Margaret 2 CONC (1847), Agnes (1852), Jane (1854), William (1856), Mary (1859), and 2 CONC Isabella (1861). Thomas was the only child born in Glasgow, the family 2 CONC having recently moved there from Ayrshire. 2 CONT Little is known of his early days in Glasgow. His mother Agnes died in 2 CONC December 1873 when he was ten years old, and father William in August the 2 CONC following year. He and some of his siblings were possibly cared for by 2 CONC one of his married sisters for some time. No doubt he completed 2 CONC elementary schooling. He possibly then moved closer to his brother 2 CONC William in Paisley, and may have been employed in William's timber 2 CONC business, perhaps becoming apprenticed as a carpenter or joiner, or 2 CONC working as a sawmill labourer. The 1881 census records his occupation at 2 CONC the age of 18 as a joiner. At that time he was living with a relative, 2 CONC Duncan Gilchrist, at 106 Stirling Road, Glasgow.  2 CONT 2 CONT Shortly after the census, 18 year old Thomas left his home country and 2 CONC migrated to Sydney, Australia. He passaged aboard the sailing ship 2 CONC Orontes out of the Port of London. Thomas stepped ashore in Sydney on the 2 CONC 19th August 1882. The trip by sailing ship was usually around twelve 2 CONC weeks. Thomas was an assisted passenger, his sister Margaret, already in 2 CONC Sydney, paying a five-pound deposit for him in the Colony on 25th January 2 CONC 1882. His address on leaving Glasgow was recorded as 14 Glen Street, 2 CONC Paisley. A reference was provided by Douglass Brennan, of Love Street, 2 CONC Paisley.  2 CONT 2 CONT Thomas stated on his immigration papers that he had a sister Agnes 2 CONC present in the Colony. This was probably Agnes Foley, who may have 2 CONC arrived with her husband Patrick some time after the birth of daughter 2 CONC Margaret in October 1881. Another child was born to the couple in Glasgow 2 CONC in September 1984, so they must not have stayed long in the Colony. So 2 CONC far, no documentation has been found to support their arrival. 2 CONC Alternatively, Thomas may have mistakenly referred to his sister Margaret 2 CONC who we know was in Sydney at that time. 2 CONT ** 2 CONT The ships’ list records his occupation as labourer, and home place as 2 CONC Renfrew. It was also recorded that he could read and write and that both 2 CONC his parents were dead.  2 CONT 2 CONT On the voyage, he fell in with Albert Kitching, a 16 year old travelling 2 CONC from Yorkshire with his family. Albert was later to be a witness and 2 CONC probably “best man” at Thomas’s wedding.  2 CONT 2 CONT Why he should now list as a labourer and not a joiner is a mystery also. 2 CONC Perhaps labourers were in greater demand in the Colony, and he was more 2 CONC likely to gain an assisted passage if he declared himself so. Working 2 CONC with timber was certainly his choice of occupation, as he settled in the 2 CONC Rozelle area of Sydney, gaining employment with the timber mills lining 2 CONC Rozelle bay. These mills imported their building and cabinet timbers from 2 CONC other parts of the country and overseas. It would then be milled and 2 CONC supplied to the blossoming building and furniture industries in the 2 CONC suburbs of Sydney.  2 CONT 2 CONT In about 1885 his sister Jane arrived in NSW with husband Alexander 2 CONC Souter and daughters Agnes and Jane.  2 CONT 2 CONT Six years after his arrival in Sydney, Thomas married Jane Jack on the 2 CONC 23rd of March 1888.  2 CONT 2 CONT The Spalding family probably introduced Thomas to Jane. They were living 2 CONC in Rosebery Street, Balmain. William Spalding, his wife Ann and family 2 CONC had arrived in Sydney in 1884. Thomas and their eldest son William did 2 CONC became close friends. Perhaps the families knew each other back home in 2 CONC Glasgow. Either way, when Jane Jack (who was the niece of Ann Spalding) 2 CONC arrived in Sydney aboard the Belgic in September 1885, she would have 2 CONC soon after came to meet young Thomas. The relationship between the Hannah 2 CONC and Spalding families continued for many years.  2 CONT 2 CONT The wedding took place “according to the forms of the Presbyterian 2 CONC church” in the home of William and Ann Spalding, attended and witnessed 2 CONC by Albert Kitching and Maria Carr, who was later to marry William 2 CONC Spalding jnr. The ceremony was performed by Reverend James Cosh.  2 CONT 2 CONT In addition to the Spaldings, family members who attended may have 2 CONC included Thomas’s sister Margaret and husband Charles Burns (with cousins 2 CONC William, Charles, Mary and baby Robert), and sister Jane, her husband 2 CONC Alexander, and their daughter Agnes. Probably also Jane’s uncle John 2 CONC MacDonald, his wife Martha and family were there as well.  2 CONT At this time Thomas declared himself to be a saw frame worker. 2 CONT 2 CONT Thomas and Jane were to have three children. William Alexander was born 2 CONC on 3rd December 1888. The address was recorded as the Brennan Estate, 15 2 CONC Halloran Street, Leichardt. This was (and still is) a small workers 2 CONC cottage, not far from Rozelle Bay along Lilyfield Road. Doctor Burgoyne 2 CONC of Balmain, and Mrs Sonter (or perhaps Souter, Thomas’s sister Jane), a 2 CONC nurse and neighbour also from Halloran Street, attended the birth. Thomas 2 CONC was aged 25, and gave his occupation as a sawyer.  2 CONT 2 CONT Their second child, Agnes, was born on 7th September 1892. By now, Thomas 2 CONC and Jane had moved to 120 Foucart Street, Balmain. Foucart Street runs 2 CONC away from Rozelle Bay and up the hill to Balmain. In attendance at the 2 CONC birth were Doctor Davidson and Mrs Spalding. This could have been either 2 CONC Mrs Ann Spalding, or her daughter-in-law, Maria. Thomas was by now 29, 2 CONC and gave his occupation as labourer.  2 CONT 2 CONT Their last child, Catherine (Kate) was born on the 11th December 1894. 2 CONC This is the first occasion when Jane recorded her name as “Jeanie”. 2 CONC Doctor Kelly and Mrs Spalding attended the birth.  2 CONT 2 CONT When baby Catherine was almost five months old, tragedy was to strike the 2 CONC little family. On the evening of Monday the 8th of April, Thomas decided 2 CONC to go down to the wharf at the bottom of Gordon Street, Rozelle, and 2 CONC catch some prawns. The Daily Telegraph reported that an eyewitness 2 CONC alerted Balmain police that she had seen “a man” slip from the rocks 2 CONC after the net become tangled around his leg. The water police recovered 2 CONC Thomas’s body at 11 am on Tuesday morning.. 2 CONT A magisterial inquest was held by JC Moore JP on the 10th April at the 2 CONC Carrington Hotel, Balmain. The magistrate found the drowning to be 2 CONC accidental, stating that “the said Thomas Baird Hannah in the waters of 2 CONC Roselle Bay, Annandale in the District of Sydney in the colony at one 2 CONC said on the 8th day of April 1895 was accidentally drowned whilst 2 CONC prawnfishing”. The report concluded that there was “no intemperance”, and 2 CONC that the deceased possessed no cash or property. He was 32 years old. 2 CONT   2 CONT Thomas’s death certificate was witnessed by William Spalding of 21 2 CONC Christie Street, Balmain, and Jane Hannah of Foucart Street, Balmain.  2 CONT 2 CONT Thomas was buried at the Field of Mars Cemetery, North Ryde in the 2 CONC Presbyterian section in an unmarked plot. The funeral costs and plot were 2 CONC probably donated by William Spalding (snr), as William was laid to rest 2 CONC in the plot alongside when he died in 1913. The relationship between 2 CONC these men was such that William possibly looked upon Thomas as another 2 CONC son. Certainly William Alexander Hannah was to consider William Spalding 2 CONC as an uncle in later years.  1 CHAN 2 DATE 7 DEC 2003 3 TIME 07:09:20 1 ADDR 1 _URL http://ausgen.tripod.com/hann0010/hann0010.htm 0 @I11@ INDI 1 NAME Jeanie (Jane) /JACK/ 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1866 1 DEAT 2 DATE 3 JUL 1910 2 PLAC Hamilton SCT 2 SOUR @S61@ 3 PAGE 1910 RD 647/00 Entry 352 1 BURI 2 DATE 5 JUL 1910 2 PLAC Newhall Cemetery,Hamilton SCT 2 SOUR @S62@ 3 PAGE Plot G597 3 QUAY 3 1 IDNO 0011 1 FAMS @F2@ 1 FAMS @F26@ 1 FAMC @F8@ 1 NOTE Jeanie Jack was born in 1867 in Hamilton, a small town on the 2 CONC southeastern outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland. In attendance at the 2 CONC birth were Doctor Davidson and Mrs Spalding. This could have been either 2 CONC Mrs Ann Spalding, or her daughter-in-law, Maria. Their last child, 2 CONC Catherine (Kate) was born on the 11th December 1894. This is the first 2 CONC occasion when Jane recorded her name as "Jeanie". Doctor Kelly and Mrs 2 CONC Spalding attended the birth. 2 CONT When baby Catherine was almost five months old, tragedy was to strike the 2 CONC little family. On the evening of Monday the 8th of April, Thomas decided 2 CONC to go down to the wharf at the bottom of Gordon Street, Rozelle, and 2 CONC catch some prawns. The Daily Telegraph reported that an eyewitness 2 CONC alerted Balmain police that she had seen "a man" slip from the rocks 2 CONC after the net become tangled around his leg. The water police recovered 2 CONC Thomas's body at 11 am on Tuesday morning. 2 CONT William Spalding of 21 Christie Street, Balmain, and Jane Hannah of 2 CONC Foucart Street, Balmain witnessed Thomas's death certificate. 2 CONT Jeanie would have stayed in Sydney for a few years. After the deaths of 2 CONC Charles Burns and Alexander Souter, and with the outbreak of bubonic 2 CONC plague in Sydney around 1899, she decided to return to Scotland with her 2 CONC three children. Perhaps she had the offer of marriage in her hometown of 2 CONC Hamilton to help seal the decision. 2 CONT Charles Burns Jnr writes of the time around her departure as follows: 2 CONT "He (William Alexander Hannah) was a native of Rozelle and went home to 2 CONC Scotland with his mother and sister Agnes when they were very small, 2 CONC after their father had been drowned in Rozelle Bay. The Balmain people 2 CONC got up a benefit for my Aunt, and they raised 100 pound. I went with my 2 CONC mother to the concert. 2 CONT 'It was during the bubonic plague and when we got there we were told that 2 CONC that part of Balmain was to be quarantined, but this did not happen till 2 CONC two days after. I carried Agnes who was about 3 years old aboard the 2 CONC ship, and didn't she play up on the way over. The youngest Cathie got 2 CONC thrown out of her Bunk and broke her collarbone." 2 CONT On arrival in Glasgow, family legend has it that Thomas's brother William 2 CONC oversaw the children's schooling, and eventually arranged for William 2 CONC Alexander to become indentured as a brass moulder in one of the shipyards 2 CONC which lined the river Clyde. 2 CONT In 1901 Jeanie remarried to William Linton in Hamilton. A daughter Jessie 2 CONC was born to the couple around 1904. Legend suggests that the children of 2 CONC her first marriage didn't get on well with their stepfather, perhaps 2 CONC preferring the company of their uncle William and family. This would 2 CONC account for why their uncle was involved in their schooling. 2 CONT Jeanie Jack died on Sunday the 3rd of July, 1910 at 45 Muir Street, 2 CONC Hamilton. She was 42 years old. 1 CHAN 2 DATE 8 DEC 2003 3 TIME 20:42:12 0 @I12@ INDI 1 NAME William Alexander /HANNAH/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE 3 DEC 1888 2 PLAC Leichardt,Sydney NSW 2 SOUR @S48@ 1 IDNO 0012 1 FAMS @F29@ 1 FAMC @F2@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 7 DEC 2003 3 TIME 07:06:36 0 @I13@ INDI 1 NAME Agnes Baird /HANNAH/ 2 NICK Nan 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1892 1 IDNO 0013 1 FAMC @F2@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 19 FEB 2003 3 TIME 17:30:29 0 @I14@ INDI 1 NAME Catherine /HANNAH/ 2 NICK Kate 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1895 1 IDNO 0014 1 FAMC @F2@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 19 FEB 2003 3 TIME 17:30:08 0 @I15@ INDI 1 NAME Agnes /WILSON/ 1 SEX F 1 DEAT 2 DATE 13 MAR 1908 2 PLAC Paisley,SCT 1 FAMS @F3@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 9 MAR 2003 3 TIME 19:23:55 0 @I16@ INDI 1 NAME Margaret /JOHNSTON/ 1 SEX F 1 DEAT 2 DATE 8 JUN 1910 2 PLAC Paisley,SCT 1 FAMS @F4@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 9 MAR 2003 3 TIME 19:17:03 0 @I17@ INDI 1 NAME William /HANNAH/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1877 2 SOUR @S5@ 3 _RIN 5 1 FAMC @F3@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 9 MAR 2003 3 TIME 19:27:05 0 @I18@ INDI 1 NAME Janet Jackson /MILLAR/ 1 SEX F 1 FAMS @F5@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 9 MAR 2003 3 TIME 19:34:14 0 @I19@ INDI 1 NAME William /HANNAH/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE C. 1798 2 PLAC Unknown 2 SOUR @S5@ 3 _RIN 5 1 DEAT 2 PLAC Unknown 2 SOUR @S5@ 3 _RIN 5 1 IDNO 0019 1 FAMS @F6@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 8 DEC 2003 3 TIME 06:18:46 0 @I20@ INDI 1 NAME Margaret /LEES/ 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE C. 1800 2 PLAC Unknown 2 SOUR @S5@ 3 _RIN 5 1 DEAT 2 PLAC Unknown 2 SOUR @S5@ 3 _RIN 5 1 IDNO 0020 1 FAMS @F6@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 8 DEC 2003 3 TIME 06:18:59 0 @I21@ INDI 1 NAME Thomas /BAIRD/ 1 SEX M 1 FAMS @F7@ 1 NOTE Shoemaker 1 CHAN 2 DATE 2 JUN 2003 3 TIME 16:57:58 0 @I22@ INDI 1 NAME Jean /KINNON/ 1 SEX F 1 FAMS @F7@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 11 MAR 2003 3 TIME 09:37:22 0 @I23@ INDI 1 NAME William /JACK/ 1 SEX M 1 FAMS @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 11 MAR 2003 3 TIME 09:41:01 0 @I24@ INDI 1 NAME Catherine /McDONALD/ 1 SEX F 1 FAMS @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 11 MAR 2003 3 TIME 09:42:38 0 @I25@ INDI 1 NAME Arthur /JACK/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1863 2 SOUR @S9@ 3 _RIN 9 3 PAGE District 647 Book 2 Page 43/44 3 QUAY 2 1 FAMC @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 13 MAR 2003 3 TIME 15:51:08 0 @I26@ INDI 1 NAME Malcolm /JACK/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1865 2 SOUR @S9@ 3 _RIN 9 3 PAGE District 647 Book 2 Page 43/44 3 QUAY 2 1 FAMC @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 13 MAR 2003 3 TIME 15:52:19 0 @I27@ INDI 1 NAME Mary-Ann /JACK/ 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE 10 JAN 1869 2 PLAC Hamilton SCT 2 SOUR @S10@ 3 PAGE 1869, Hamilton Entry 58 3 QUAY 3 1 FAMC @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 13 MAR 2003 3 TIME 16:08:18 0 @I28@ INDI 1 NAME Annie /JACK/ 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1871 2 SOUR @S9@ 3 _RIN 9 3 PAGE District 647 Book 2 Page 43/44 3 QUAY 2 1 FAMC @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 13 MAR 2003 3 TIME 15:53:34 0 @I29@ INDI 1 NAME John /JACK/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1875 2 SOUR @S9@ 3 _RIN 9 3 PAGE District 647 Book 2 Page 43/44 3 QUAY 2 1 FAMC @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 13 MAR 2003 3 TIME 15:54:09 0 @I30@ INDI 1 NAME Alexander /JACK/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1877 2 SOUR @S9@ 3 _RIN 9 3 PAGE District 647 Book 2 Page 43/44 3 QUAY 2 1 FAMC @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 13 MAR 2003 3 TIME 15:54:47 0 @I31@ INDI 1 NAME James /JACK/ 1 SEX M 1 BIRT 2 DATE 1881 2 SOUR @S9@ 3 _RIN 9 3 PAGE District 647 Book 2 Page 43/44 3 QUAY 2 1 FAMC @F8@ 1 CHAN 2 DATE 13 MAR 2003 3 TIME 15:55:21 0 @I32@ INDI 1 NAME Dugald /BROWN/ 1 SEX M 1 IDNO 0032 1 FAMS @F9@ 1 FAMC @F10@ 1 NOTE On the 22nd of December 1876, Dugald married Mary Hannah, his next door 2 CONC neighbour, in a ceremony which took place at 2 Berkeley Terrace, Glasgow. 2 CONC The service was conducted by Robert Stuart, the Minister of St. Marks 2 CONC Church of Scotland. 2 CONT 2 CONT Dugald's parents were John Brown (harbour labourer) and Ann Brown (m.s. 2 CONC Brown) 2 CONT 2 CONT At the time of their marriage, Mary described her occupation as a cotton 2 CONC loomer(the certificate appears to suggest lucer), and her address as 37 2 CONC Mill Street, Glasgow.
