Ian pays Ing. Carcano a visit:

In combination with the UK visit to display the V8 at the Birmingham NEC show, Ian payed a visit to Italy to meet some people and see some sights.  The person at the top of Ian's list was obviously Ing. Carcano, designer of the legendary 1957 Moto Guzzi 500cc V8.  A very pleasant and productive few hours were spent with the 89 year old Carcano in Mandello del Lario discussing everything from sailing boats, Carcano's other love, to V8 engines.  Ian was most chuffed not only to learn that Carcano knew of the Drysdale V8 but also that he spokle excellent English, making the afternoon session of 'bench racing' a memorable occasion.
