Well this costume was made for a good friend of mine, Alison's birthday party (a great friend, and magnificent person!).
The theme was drag, so being completely poor at leaving the animal theme behind I thought... hmmm what should
I go as.... Cats, nah... already done.... I know... Catwoman! Having gone to Warner Studios and seeing Catwoman there,
I thought I may as well give my own bend to the idea.
First, I went looking for a pattern for a corset. Basically I got a Vogue™ pattern for a dress with a boned
corset, it was the only one I could fine. It was modified to fit my size, which is a little bigger than the
largest size pattern available*grins*, so it was made a bit bigger.
The corset was made in black pvc, and the boning was just bog standard 'boning' strips... no not whale bones. Eye holes
were placed on the back of it, so it could be laced up. The body suit was stretch velvet (the cheap crused velvet stuff, but
that is exactly what I was aiming to look like!). I made a mask, just making a simple hood, where I cut out some eye holes,
placed in some lil ears, and a mouth hole... giving a rather authentic look. From the local BDSM shop down in Melbourne (on Brunswick
Street), I accessorized with some elbow long gloves, and a riding crop in purple. Later, lace stockings were added to the costume,
as were a pair of high heel shoes lent of a friend.
With a little make up, some foam 'breast implants', and some general seedyness, I came up to be looking like the photos scattered
around this page. The night was a ball, sadly other photos of the night didn't come out, so the ones here were basically before the
night, and one on the night with the lady of the night Alison! Damn I just wish I had the hips and figure to play the part
better *winks*.
By the way: Catwoman is ™© of DC-Comics.
