The werewolf was my first attempt at a latex mask. I had wanted to make on werewolf mask for a long time. So when it came
to someone having a party with a 'hybrid' theme, well the animal urges flowed ( no don't take that the wrong way ), and I
deceided.... werewolf. So I had a casting of my face made, and went about building up a mould. It was easy, but the quality of the work
had something left to be desired, but enyway it was effective. The mask consisted of an upper face peice, consisting of upper snout,
cheeks and forehead, and a lower jaw, consisting of just that... oh and some ear tips. The face got airbrushed black with dark grey
details.
The day came for the party, and it was time to put the makeup on. Spirit gum was used to affix the face prosthetics, and Kryolan water
based face paints were used to 'blend' in the mask to the skin. The overall feel of the costume was to be dark, and sinister.
The only details on it were on the face and on my neck. I airbrused my upper body black with a white neck ruff... but most people didn't
get to see that. I also attached claws to my fingers, sharpened to a point painted black.
Once again I drove to the party in costume. I ventured into a shopping centre in the costume, which got some impressive looks, especially
in the bottle shop *smiles*. I also scared the life out of a attendant at a bakery, I suppose thinking about it now, people would have
thought were were going to do a hold up ( sad that isn't it! ). It was a good night, apart from the fact that the latex was the
cheap stuff ™ and didn't breathe... so sweat build up under was a problem, and made it uncomfortable at times.
