Blame my sister.

She's the one who gave me a book called 'The Science of Discworld' for Christmas. It's an interesting book, although it doesn't explain much about Discworld. In fact, it focusses mostly on 'Roundworld' (ie Earth), with a bit of entertaining storyline about the Wizards thrown in to keep it moving along. But it did something to the Creativity Demons. When I then had to study for a biochemistry exam, a new type evolved. One wearing a lab coat, large glasses and a curious expression. One that has somehow worked out how to combine my obession with gargoyles with my overwhelming interest in science. Damn. I'd been hoping to keep them away from each other. The last time that happened, I ended up including an explanation of how Servarius made the Mutates in one of my fanfics.

Now, I like to think I know the limits of my writing ability, and I was absolutely certain that I didn't have the skill to fit this Creativity Demon into a fanfic. But the little sod was too persuasive to let go. Hence, 'The Science of Gargoyles' was born.

At the moment, it is experimental. Very experimental. I've never done anything like this before, so let me know what you think. Boring? Stupid? Too technical? Not technical enough? Or have you been playing 'spot the holes' in my theories and have found a couple of big ones?

Or maybe you have a theory of your own. Perhaps you're a weapons expert who's worked out how those laser cannons work. Perhaps you're a history buff who knows what life was like back in the 10th Century. Or an engineer who's can answer some questions on how that castle got on top of that skyscraper (like why doesn't all that glass shatter from the weight on top of it?). If you do, send it my way!

Energy Is Energy.

A closer look at how gargoyles and fae get their energy, including how the gargoyles turn to stone. It's all pseudo.

Where did Gargies come from?

Evolution, life on other planets, asteriods plunging into said planets. Need I say more?

Eyes only for you

The title gives it away, really! One of the most-wow features of the gargies, explained, scientific-like!

The Eyrie Building

Yooper has written this 'engineer's report' on the Eyrie Building. It's interesting stuff, and the only thing in here that has any sort of credibility ;).

Gargoyles and Flight

Another intelligent, credible essay! Ever wonder about the aerodynamics of the gargoyles? Because Shadowrider has the answers to all the questions! Best of all, there's lots of pictures, so you don't need a degree to understand it!
