Recently a new feature has been added. Some might call it a toy but it isn't if you seriously study this. A simple macro Expert System (ES) is included so anyone purchasing can satisfy themselves how powerful an ES is, as well as forming an appreciation of how the decisions are made.

The above are just 4 EDSPs. 5GL-Doctor by now uses perhaps hundreds. The weakness of 5GL-Doctor is lack of some extremely rare definitions (being added to all the time as such come our way) and some of the symptom/sign patterns may not have the best possible pattern defined (these are repaired as it becomes clear). The Expert System itself is fantastic! It has to be understood that initially it was the personal edition not intended for physicians or nurses that sold, so most of the work was done to ensure this developed well - but much of the internals and much of the symptom/signs selection list is identical across both. The decision was made not to use medical jargon for symptoms/signs (but in later editions aliases were added). Thus a medical practioner may need to adjust a touch to finding the symptoms in plain English (not much of an adjustment).
