The Australian Women’s National Team is currently in Division III of the World Women’s Championships.  The coach of the team is Rocky Padjen from ACT.  The team have floated around in this division for years, twice winning gold and being promoted to Division II.  Unfortunately no host could be found for the 2009 Championship, thus IIHF cancelled the tournament.  As Divisions I and lower do not play in Olympic years, there will be no tournament in 2010 either.  The current Australian squad is now looking at a 3 year training plan in order to be ready for 2011.  Stay tuned to this page for international friendly tournaments that are currently being organized.  The IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) website can be viewed by clicking here.
