Offensive Push Rules for Melbourne Squadron social games.
1. Modified HO chart is used [ 1. RW / 2. CW** / 3. E / 4. E / 5. FF** / 6. LW ]
No-Deflection HO shots from 200' or less change possible pilot hits to probable pilot hits
in addition to the ramming chance.
2. Modified Climb rules will be under test when possible (social games). Each 100' of climb costs 10 mph of throttle with a minimum of one square forward movement. The only tailing change required is that the Climb card changes to SS*2; +200' below 10,000' and SS*3; +100' above 10,000' before the aircraft finishes out.
3. Each squadron has a set amount of repair points per day. Repairs cost as follows:
| Damage sustained | Repairs required |
| General servicing (ammo, feul etc) inc. minor damage not otherwise listed. | 1 repair point |
| Each location with 50%+ hit factors taken | 1 repair point |
| Engine taken 4 or more hit factors | 3 repair points |
| Each non-engine critical hit taken | 1 repair point |
| Each engine critical hit taken | 2 repair points |
| Any location completely destroyed / aircraft crashed | Unrepairable |
The offensive lasts five days.
Determine which forces are the attacker during the campaign (either historically or roll
randomly).
To determine the day's mission, roll 1d6 on the table below. If one side has not reached their target zone during the game, there is a 30% chance that they will be found by the enemy forces not initially used (players cannot use the same pilot if they escaped combat or are flying an aircraft not in the previous battle).
| Die Roll | Attacker Mission | Defender Mission |
| One | Patrol | Patrol |
| Two | Patrol | Patrol |
| Three | Photo Recon | Patrol |
| Four | Balloon Bust | Photo Recon |
| Five | Ground Attack | Artillery Spotting |
| Six | Ground Attack | Ground Attack |
The Attacker's forces have 12 aircraft available and 18 repair points per day.
The Defender's forces have 10 aircraft available and 15 repair points per day.
Forces can request replacement aircraft, but it takes 1d6 days for each aircraft to arrive
(so may not arrive at all).
Roll the available aircraft on the tables for the appropriate month of the war. Remember, you want at least one two-seater for Photo Recon (two is preferred) and some aircraft capable of ground attack missions.
Players will need to nominate two pilots each for the available pilot pool. The pilots must be capable of flying at least one of the available aircraft in their force list.
Whichever side successfully completes more missions wins the campaign.
