Turn 4 Report

Principality goes down in a wave of laser & nuclear warheads, some exploding up her kilt at point blank range. This shows up appalling point defence by the Faithful as they only succeed in shooting down 6 missiles from 12 die of defensive fire; not enough to stop the surviving 10 missiles, 2 of which also explode against Thunder of God's flank.
Troubador & Thunder of God both roll wedge to reduce incoming fire, neither of which has any effect as they fire down each other's kilt with chase armaments. Luckily ToG is *just* outside the range of Fearless' grazers (32.4 MU!) after opening his throat to the heavy cruiser.
Troubador is effectively out of the fight, as she has lost thrust & only has 2 turns worth of life support available. Her vector should take her out of the fight, but ToG may get a final grazer broadside in as they diverge away.
The battle now comes down to a lightly damaged Thunder of God & an undamaged Fearless. Even damaged, ToG has a large weaponry advantage and the aggressiveness to use it. Will Fearless continue to diverge? or will she turn and face her opponent?

The battle has now reached the same point as the historical battle. It is now a 1-1 battle with the planet still 300 MU away. The RMN has been landing missiles with better accuracy, but the Navy of the Faithful now have a slight advantage. If both sides are accurate, ToG should land 1 extra missile against Fearless each turn (mathematically), but battles are still fought by people, not machines.
