In 1848,1849 and 1850 the Government Gazette published the names of over 1500 applications for leasehold in the then pastoral districts of Bligh, Clarence River, Darling Downs, Gwydir, Lachlan, Liverpool Plains, Lower Darling, Macleay River, Maneroo, Moreton Bay, Murrumbidgee, New England and Wellington.
I have collated all these entries and they are now available on CD-ROM in pdf format. The entries contain the following information: - name of applicant, name of the run, the pastoral district, owner(s) of adjoining runs where stated, details of the run such as acreage, carrying capacity for sheep and cattle, the location and in some cases a brief description of the run.
During 1848 and 1849 the Crown Lands Office received over 600 caveats against claims to leases of Crown land beyond the Settled Districts. These have been collated and sorted alphabetically by the name of the applicants.
The list contain applicant name, the district , the name of the run applied for and the name of the party lodging caveat against the issue of such lease. The listing provides an interesting perspective of claims and counter claims.

CD No 20. Conditional Purchasers. 1862 - 1864.
This data has been sourced from the Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales. It contains the details of over 9,000 applications for the conditional purchase of Crown Land between 1st January 1862 and 30th September 1864.
A conditional purchase (CP) may have had a number of owners before the final payment was made and all conditions satisfied as the name on the parish map is that of the person who made the final payment and that may or may not be the person you are researching. So if you do not know the parish or district of your ancestor you must search all the Conditional Purchase records at Kingswood. These records are not in alphabetical order but in order of the Conditional Purchase number. I have entered this data into a data base and sorted these records into alphabetical order of surname.
This CD is a useful research addition to your library or that of your local historical or genealogical society.
