Fragrant essential oils can enrich your life, whether they are used therapeutically, in beauty treatments, to perfume the home or for sheer pleasure. But when the oils are combined with massage their effectiveness in relieving stress, improving mood and promoting good health is most striking.

WHAT IS AROMATHERAPY?

"Aroma" derives from the Greek work for spice - today we use the word more broadly to mean fragrance - and "therapy" means treatment, so aromatherapy literally means curative treatment by the use of scent. Odours are perceived by the part of the brain connected with emotion, so a pleasurable scent can have a positive effect on your enjoyment of life.

The Essential Oils page explains the various methods of extraction and outlines the individual properties, uses, and fragrances to be discovered.
